BUHA RESIGNS AS WEBSTER GROVES FOOTBALL COACH
WEBSTER GROVES, MO, November 4, 2021: Matt Buha has informed the administration at Webster Groves High School of his resignation as head football coach, effective immediately. Buha has served as head football coach and physical education teacher at WGHS since 2020. Buha has also resigned his teaching position at the end of this school year.
Coach Buha has led the Statesmen through two seasons as Webster’s head football coach. He stated that “Coaching and mentoring the young men in this football program has been a true highlight in my life; the relationships that we have created have changed me forever.”
WGHS Athletic Director Jerry Collins said, “I want to thank Coach Buha for his efforts in leading our football program through two very difficult seasons during the COVID pandemic. In his short time with us he was able to connect with our students and give them a positive experience playing football. I wish Coach Buha well as he moves on to his next endeavor.”
As a result of Coach Buha’s announcement, WGHS has named Munir Prince as the interim head coach to lead the team into the annual Turkey Day football game against Kirkwood High School on November 25th. Coach Prince is in his second year as the assistant activities director and an assistant football coach at WGHS. Prior to joining the staff at WGHS, Coach Prince had extensive experience in collegiate coaching at the University of Missouri, Drake, Missouri State, and Pittsburg State.
